Each chess piece is creatively illustrated to represent a lighthearted personality that matches its functionality in the chess kingdom. Additionally, there are poems that advise how best to play and behavior poems like “When Your Game Is Going Badly” and “Losing And Learning.” Each poem is illustrated. On page 17 there is a picture puzzle - a school building with all of the chess pieces hidden in the illustration. And there are a few chess related poems written just for fun.
